The pictured CATBus crashed into a student near the E-1 parking lot. Though there were passengers, no one inside the bus was harmed.
A Clemson University student was struck by a CATbus earlier today, according to university officials.
The Clemson University Police Department (CUPD) received a call at 9:13 a.m. reporting that a person had been struck by a CATbus near the E-1 parking lot.
Clemson University spokesman John Gouch said in an email that “the CATbus was turning right from Zeta Theta Street onto Cherry Road when it struck a female student who had stepped into the roadway.”
Gouch said the student was transported to Oconee Memorial by Clemson University EMS. She was reported to be alert and talking.
Gouch said the incident is still under investigation, and that no one on board the bus was injured.
UPDATE (7:05 p.m.): “The CATbus driver was not found at fault,” CATbus Interim Transit Director Keith Moody said in an email to The Tiger.
