The Kappa Alpha fraternity is the subject of an active investigation for an alleged hazing incident in September, according to a police report obtained by The Seneca Journal.
The report shows that two suspects are under investigation for an incident that allegedly occurred the evening of Sept. 13. The incident may have occurred on campus near Wannamaker Hall, one of the seven Greek residence halls in The Quad, according to the Clemson University police.
The report was not filed until nine days later, after the national leadership of the fraternity suspended the Clemson chapter pending investigation. As of Sept. 29, the chapter remains suspended, according to Kappa Alpha Order national.
The report confirms that there is an investigator assigned to the case, Officer Janet Brock. A supplemental report was mentioned in the initial narrative provided by Brock but was not released due to the ongoing investigation
The University did not clarify the current status of the individuals in an email to The Tiger, including whether they have been charged with a crime or violation of the student Code of Conduct.
“At this time, the allegations are still under investigation by the University,” said Philip Sikes, University spokesperson.
