Clemson quarterback Taisun Phommachanh carries the ball against UConn in Memorial Stadium on Nov. 13, 2021
Clemson sophomore quarterback Taisun Phommachanh and junior wide receiver Frank Ladson Jr. have entered the transfer portal, as first reported by Matt Zenitz of On3.
Serving as the backup quarterback for the season, Phommachanh accounted for 200 total yards and two touchdowns. Ladson came into the season expecting to play a significant role in the Tigers’ offense but had surgery on a groin injury in October, ending his season.
With Phommachanh in the portal, Clemson will now be without its backup quarterback for the Tigers’ bowl game. Redshirt freshman Hunter Helms is a likely candidate to serve as DJ Uiagalelei’s backup for the season’s final game.
