Enjoy a fresh baked potato from your own dorm room.
Life on campus is always full of new opportunities and surprises, one of which is learning how to cook for yourself. Maybe you miss home and want a meal just like your mom would make, or you could be sick of eating Wendy’s everyday. In either case, making food yourself is always a way to be more responsible and learn one of life’s many skills.
One of the most recognizable home-cooked meals is a loaded baked potato. This recipe is dorm friendly, delicious, and can be made using only the microwave and minimal dishes.
What you’ll need:
1-2 russet potatoes
Sour cream
Cheese (your preference)
Bacon bits
Salt and pepper to taste
Steps:
Use a fork and pierce the skin of the potato
Microwave potato for 10-12 minutes on high
Let it cool for 3-5 minutes
Cut through the potato and scrape the inside
Mix with the toppings listed or toppings of your choice
Serve
