With an ACC Championship win, the Clemson Tigers took the No. 12 seed in the College Football Playoff and will play Texas in the first round.
The Clemson Tigers were announced as the No. 12 seed in the overall College Football Playoff on Sunday afternoon.
The team will play the No. 5-seeded Texas Longhorns in the first round. As first-round games are played on college campuses, the game will take place in Austin, Texas, at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
The Tigers were the lowest-seeded conference champion out of the five champions that were selected for the postseason. The winner of the first-round game will play Arizona State in the Peach Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Clemson received the berth after defeating the SMU Mustangs at Bank of America Stadium on Saturday night, securing the bid on a game-winning 56-yard field goal from Nolan Hauser. Fortunately for the Mustangs, the team is in the playoff as well, securing a No. 11 seed and playing Penn State in the first round of the postseason.
Kickoff between the Longhorns and Tigers is set for 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21.
