Getting involved in college can feel intimidating, but by joining clubs and talking to your peers meeting new people will be easier than ever.
“How can I meet new people if I’m not involved in Greek life?”
That’s a great question! Sometimes it feels like Clemson is a Greek-oriented school, and it can feel difficult to make new friends or meet new people if you don’t join.
Going Greek is a choice that you can make, but it’s important to know that no matter what you choose, you can make friends anywhere.
I didn’t join a sorority, and while I debated on whether or not I should, I found that it came down to personal preference, and I didn’t have the time to commit to everything.
I’m going to take this opportunity to sound like everyone else, join a club. It’s the advice everyone gives, but it’s important advice. Joining a club is a surefire way to meet new people who share a similar interest as you.
Another option is a little more difficult, but take the initiative to talk to people in your class, or talking to a stranger downtown. It can be intimidating talking to strangers, but school is no fun if you have no one to share it with.
It’s easy to stay silent, but making new friends can be so rewarding!
