Clemson football looks to get into the win column for the first time in 2025 with a win over Troy on Saturday.
The Clemson Tigers return to Death Valley to take on the Troy Trojans on Saturday, hoping to heal the heartbreak from last week.
In their opening game, the Clemson Tigers fell to the LSU Tigers in a highly anticipated matchup, dropping down to No. 8 on the AP Poll. Heisman-candidate quarterback Cade Klubnik struggled under center, throwing for 230 yards and an interception on a 19-for-38 performance behind a questionable offensive line.
Clemson, 0-1, ultimately fell to the LSU Tigers 17-10, failing to score on its final possession, which sent Death Valley into a shocked disappointment.
Troy, 1-0, on the other hand, started its season with a commanding 38-20 win over Nicholls.
Junior quarterback Goose Crowder led the offense with a three-touchdown passing performance. Running back Tae Meadows rushed for 186 yards on 23 carries, looking borderline unstoppable on the ground and making him a clear focus for the Clemson defense.
Coming into the matchup, Clemson remains heavily favored, but the team has something to prove. The Tigers began the year in talks for the national championship, but after the home opener, these expectations have been thrown into question.
The team’s defense played at a championship-caliber level, but offense remains a question mark.
Klubnik will look to lead his offense in a comeback, hoping to show they should still be considered one of the best teams in the country, but Troy hopes to knock off the Tigers and come away with a monumental upset.
The game will broadcast on the ACC Network at 3:30 p.m.
