Clemson women's soccer tied Cal at Historic Riggs Field on Sunday.
On Sunday, the Clemson women’s soccer team tied California 2-2 at Historic Riggs Field.
The contest started defensively with a scoreless first half. Although Clemson was able to tally seven shots in the first half, the Tigers couldn’t fully capitalize on any of these opportunities.
However, scoring came in bunches in the second half. The Golden Bears made it on the board first, scoring two goals within eight minutes of each other. Forward Lumi Kostmayer scored both goals, coming in the 51st and 59th minutes of play.
Clemson came roaring back when forward Juju Harris scored just two minutes later, firing the ball into the bottom right of the net. Taylor Leib would ultimately tie the contest up at two in the 67th minute of the match.
The Tigers created more opportunities throughout the game, tallying 14 shots in contrast to California’s six.
Clemson will return to action on Friday when it faces off against Louisville on the road. The game will begin at 7 p.m.
