Clemson women's soccer fell to Louisville on Friday evening.
Clemson women’s soccer took on Louisville Friday evening at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium, falling to the Cardinals 1-0 in the team’s first loss in their last seven games.
Louisville, 9-2-0, 2-1-0 ACC, midfielder Amelia Swinarski scored the lone goal of the match in the 20th minute, sliding a shot into the bottom left corner between two Clemson defenders and past the goalkeeper.
The two teams finished the match equally with five shots each. What hindered the Tigers, 3-2-5, 0-1-2 ACC, was their lack of shots on goal, as they finished the match failing to record one.
While Clemson was unable to put a shot on goal, the defense stepped up in the second half as it held Louisville to only one shot the entire period.
The Tigers will continue their search for their first ACC victory of the season next Thursday when they take on Virginia at 7 p.m. at Historic Riggs Field.
