At the City Council meeting on Nov. 21. the Clemson City Council passed an ordinance to allow the Board of Architectural Review (BAR) to approve variances for small additions to existing structures.
This change will allow the BAR to approve additions less than 25% of the existing floor area or 1,000 square feet, whichever is less, without requiring existing buildings to come into total compliance with the current city architectural standards or going to city council.
