Changes are coming to Clemson City Council elections after extensive new state election law.
Last Monday, the Clemson City Council voted to update the city’s disorderly conduct ordinance.
The updates outlaw “unsanitary” conduct, including public defecation and urination. This follows building problems with unsanitary behavior, particularly downtown.
The change also aligns the ordinance with modern constitutional protections, including explicit protection for free speech.
The ordinance was last updated in the 1980s.
