Here is a list of things many Clemson students don’t think of when first stepping foot on campus.
1) A PLAN
Plan ahead of the first day where your classes are, where you’ll park, how long it will take to get there, etc. Know where you need to be and when.
2) UMBRELLA
You just never know when it will rain and the last thing you want is to be stuck walking across campus in a downpour, especially on the first day.
3) LAPTOP
Typically, the first day is reserved for introductions and reviewing the syllabus. However, on the off chance that your professor begins lectures just have your laptop in case!
4) NO TEXTBOOKS
Most are online anyways and it depends on the class, but you never know if you may need to drop a class and add a new one, so it’s best to wait on textbooks if possible.
5) HEADPHONES
Nothing is worse than being stuck on campus for hours between classes in complete silence, so make sure you bring ’em!
7) STUDENT ID
Add it to your online wallet and make sure it’s ready to go. This will be what you use to scan into buildings and probably to make any purchases while on campus.
6) MORE TIME
Give yourself plenty of time to find parking, take the bus, walk to class and grab lunch. The first day is always the busiest so you’ll thank yourself when you’re not 20 minutes late to your class by leaving a little earlier than usual.
These are just some basic suggestions you may not have thought of bringing for the first day, but you know more than anyone what you’ll need. Adjust your list and make the most out of your first day at Clemson. You got this!
