UPDATE (10:15 a.m.):
Clemson University has confirmed that all students studying abroad in London are safe, university officials told The Tiger.
Clemson University has reached out to 18 students who are currently studying abroad in London to make sure they are safe.
As of 9:30 p.m. Saturday, the university has confirmed that six of the 18 students are safe.
Dr. Uttiyo Raychaudhuri, director of the Clemson Abroad Global Engagement program, says that since it is past midnight in London, other students may not respond until the morning.
Raychaudhuri says a student who was visiting London from Clemson’s Belgium program has also been confirmed safe.
The university began wellness checks on Saturday night after an incident on the London Bridge and incidents in the Borough Market and Vauxhall areas of London.
The London Metropolitan Police has declared the incidents at London Bridge and Borough Market as terrorist incidents. They say that the incident at Vauxhall is a stabbing and is not connect to the other two incidents.
