On Feb. 28, a popular bar in downtown Clemson was shut down. Undercover police officers and SLED agents worked together to accomplish the shutdown at around 5 p.m. that evening.
It was discovered that Study Hall Kitchen & Bar did not had a valid liquor license since November 2018. According to an article from Independent Mail, Study Hall had previously filed a late renewal of their alcohol beverage license, which was then denied.
A large inventory of leftover liquor was also seized upon the shutdown.
Study Hall was a well-known bar on College Avenue. It not only served alcohol but also served meals throughout the day, such as Sunday brunch.
The owner of the bar has not yet made a public statement about the shutdown, but Study Hall will be closed until they obtain a new liquor license, a process that can take anywhere from several weeks to many months.
