It’s the most wonderful time of the year (for some people). Valentine’s Day is either everyone’s favorite day, or their least favorite day. I took the liberty of asking a few of my close friends and family members about what their plans are for Valentine’s Day, receiving diverse, romantic and sometimes comical responses:
“Going to Houston for my best friend’s birthday.” – Emily
“None.” – William
“Well, I told my boyfriend that I want to go out and do something, but to make it a surprise. So, I’m not sure what he has planned.” – Khali
“Taking my girl to get us a nice couples massage and a spa day. Then, I’m going to have a nice candlelight dinner for us at home.” – Jamal
“I plan on going to the Melting Pot with a group of friends. Not actually the day of, but the weekend after. No plans on the actual day though.” – Kaylaunta
“Nothing Valentine’s Day related. I have to do RA related things.” – Taya
“Nothing lol. Recording music.” – Jae
“Eating candy, getting dinner, studying and relaxing.” – Naye
“I’m going to serve a look and take pictures. I might go out to dinner but I’m not sure.” – Michael
“Well, if he doesn’t work, my boyfriend and I are planning to go to Macaroni Grill for a date night. We haven’t thought about anything else afterward. Probably Dave and Buster’s, but we just want to spend time with one another.” – Jada
“Photo shoot, class and Fashion Society.” – Xavier
“Good question. My boyfriend and I are going to go out. He’s letting me decide so I should probably start thinking of something.” – Cammi
“I don’t know yet.” – Matthias
“I have no plans for Valentine’s Day. At the moment, I’m single and even when I’m in a relationship, I don’t pay the day too much attention. I expect my man/woman to be appreciative and show gratitude on a consistent basis, not just one day out of a whole year.” – Diamond
“I don’t know honestly. I might surprise my boo with something. I know I want to get her flowers because she said she never got flowers before.” – Josh
“Now you already know the answer to that question. I’m not doing anyt- actually, I’m going to pick up my friend from the airport.” – Mother Dearest
“Nothing. I don’t celebrate it.” – Christina
“Well, I am working for Valentine’s Day, but to celebrate it, I plan on dinner the next day.” – Alyssa, sister-in-law
As for me, I plan on getting all of my work done, then finish off the night by getting drunk off Jose Cuervo Silver while learning the Dothraki language and dancing to 90s R&B.
