Clemson’s inaugural CollabFest, a new festival celebrating creativity on campus, will begin on Feb. 27 and will run through March 2.
Several departments across campus created the four-day festival in order to combine art, film, technology and food events that, together, “seek to inspire, entertain and educate,” according to a Clemson University media release.
CollabFest, presented by Clemson’s CoCreate, will serve as an opportunity for the Clemson community to showcase talents from both faculty and students and encourage collaboration across departments. CoCreate is an existing initiative at Clemson that unites the creative community, and its involvement in CollabFest branches many creative endeavors throughout the university.
The majority of the events will be free and open to the public, though some events, such as the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company performance on Friday, may require registration or the purchase of a ticket.
CollabFest will begin on Feb. 27. New York Times Editor Peter Catapano will kick off the event at 3 p.m. in the Watt Family Innovation Center, discussing disability poetics with Poet Khadijah Queen and Clemson Associate Professor Jillian Weise.
Other events such as workshops, panel discussions, film screenings and art exhibits will be held across campus during the festival. CollabFest will end with the Clemson Food Summit on March 2.
CollabFest is a great way to learn more about the different departments at Clemson University and to connect with other people in the Clemson community. To learn more about CollabFest and to see a schedule of events, please visit clemson.edu/cocreate.
