What is worse than exams? Midterm exams. You’ve only been in school for a month and are already being hounded with study guides and tests galore. Have no fear! Here are some tips to keep the stress down to a minimum.
1. Always take a break in the name of self care.
Your mental health is extremely important! Take a few minutes (or hours) to rest your mind. Watch an episode of “Disenchantment”, take a stroll or simply take a nap. Do something to temporarily take your mind off of midterms.
2. Take a (short) drive.
Like Rihanna said, “shut up and drive”. Take a short drive anywhere (i.e. nearest Walmart or park) to ease your stress. Do not forget to put on some sweet tunes to take you out of your zone.
3. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Skip the McDonald’s, Starbucks and Raising Cane’s and reward your mind and body with actual nutrients! There are multiple reports that state eating fruits and vegetables are beneficial to mental stimulation and health.
4. Socialize!
Although this might not seem like the best idea at times, it can be very helpful to socialize with friends after long hours of studying. Talk junk about your professors giving out too much homework, or how excited you are for the new season of “Big Mouth” to come out. Just talk to someone before you lose your mind studying for midterms!
