Working out provides endorphins and empowers those who participate. In the center of campus, Fike Recreation Center offers amenities that accommodate all of your fitness needs. With a running track, a bounty of cardio machines, a lap pool and group fitness spaces, Fike truly has something for everyone.
“I love Fike because the group fitness classes always keep me motivated and are always so much fun,” Claire MacGillivray, a freshman nursing major, said.
The options for group fitness are just some of the many benefits that Fike has to offer.
The design of Fike also makes it appealing. This gym features a pit area, which is always bustling with activity, with ample weights and strength training equipment. On the next level, surrounding this pit, one will find treadmills, ellipticals and bikes for a different workout style. The pool area, group fitness studios and functional training areas are scattered throughout the other spaces in Fike.
This year, Fike serves as a solution to the shortage of classroom space due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The basketball and racquetball courts have been converted into areas of learning, bridging the gap between fitness and academics in a novel way. The versatility of Fike did not go unnoticed to the Clemson community, making it a fan favorite across the board.
