The Clemson Tigers faced the University of Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes on Sunday, Nov. 7. In the matchup, the Hurricanes won three straight sets to defeat the Tigers, 3-0.
The Tigers lost the first set by only five points. By the end of the set, the team’s hit percentage was only .111% while the Hurricanes’ percentage was .200%.
In the second set, the Tigers lost 25-14. Clemson obtained seven kills for the set, leading their hitting percentage to decrease to -.094%.
During the third set, Miami won the set fairly easy, 25-15.
The final overall hitting percentage for the Tigers was .154% while the Hurricanes nearly tripled Clemson’s hit percentage by achieving a .458%.
Clemson’s right side and outside hitter Camryn Hannah led the team with a total of eight attacks and 23 attempts.
Despite outside hitter Kaylee Martin’s dominance throughout the season, she was quiet this game as she only had one kill for the team. Martin leads the team in points, attacks, kills and kills per set this year.
Clemson volleyball’s record is now 11-14 with five games left in the regular season. The team will be back in Jervey Stadium on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 5 p.m. as they host Southern Mississippi.
