Clemson University Police are investigating a report of attempted sexual assault that occurred Thursday morning in the R-3 parking lot.
The incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. and involved the offense of fondling, according to a press release sent out by University Police Thursday evening.
CUPD has identified a male suspect, but did not provide any additional information Friday morning as the investigation remains ongoing.
“CUPD detectives are actively reviewing all available video footage from the surrounding area, coordinating with local law enforcement partners and interviewing all potential witnesses,” wrote University Police in the press release.
Police have increased uniformed patrols in and around the parking areas, including R-3.
This is the second reported sexual assault this year, according to the University Police crime dashboard. The last incident occurred in June and was administratively closed.
