For those of you who may not know, Starbucks has a variety of seasonal drinks and food items. Now that Halloween is over, it is time for the long-awaited holiday drinks to return to Starbucks menus everywhere. One of the things that makes this season so unique is that it gets a special cup. During this time, the traditional white cups with the Starbucks logo become a line of cups with different holiday patterns that are unique to each year. This year, there are four designs. Three of the four boast different ribbon-like patterns, while the fourth is a solid red with a variety of solid green shapes. These designs are unique to hot drinks, and the cold cup has similar solid white shapes but no ribbon pattern.
As always, the seasonal flavored drinks have returned, and each drink is available in hot, iced and frappuccino versions. The list of drinks that are now available is as follows: the peppermint mocha, the toasted white chocolate mocha, the eggnog latte, the chestnut praline latte and the caramel brulee latte. These are now available at the Starbucks locations on Clemson’s campus. Each of these drinks brings about the feelings of coziness that we often associate with winter and can remind us of the holidays. These warm and fuzzy feelings are very important to hold onto, especially amidst a worldwide pandemic. It is comforting to know that Starbucks has these drinks that many of us have gotten used to seeing around this time of the year as it gives us a little sense of normalcy despite the current situation. All of these flavors are classics for the holiday season, but peppermint and eggnog are standouts among the bunch since they are so heavily associated with this time of year. Starbucks is also releasing some of these favorites in grocery stores. There is a wide variety of items that you can find these flavors in, which include K-cup pods, coffee grounds and more!
Another important aspect of the holiday season at Starbucks is the holiday food items that are released along with the drinks. These are not as well known as the drinks but are equally as important to this time of year as the drinks are. Starbucks hey releases a variety of foods, including the cranberry orange scone, the cranberry bliss bar, the snowman cookie, the snowman cake pop and the sugar plum cheese danish. The cranberry orange scone is new this year, but the rest are returning favorites to the Starbucks lineup.
Overall, it is refreshing to see these sweet treats head back to Starbucks all around us so that we can keep looking forward as we head into the holiday season. It is important for us to have some stability in our daily lives, which is what we are getting from these holiday menu items. The holiday season at Starbucks started on Nov. 6, so I encourage you to go get your favorite holiday drink or food item while they’re here!
