Foreplay is always an exhilarating part when it comes to having sex. You’re all warmed up and ready to go, and it seems to be what gets the most attention. But when it comes to aftercare, some people don’t have the same energy they had when they were foreplaying. Here are the top five things everyone should do after being intimate:
Use the restroom!
For women especially, this is an extremely important step. Not only will you feel better from releasing pent-up bodily fluids, but bacteria will be flushed out from the body by doing so. According to an article by WebMD, urinating after sex will reduce the potential of infections and bacterial diseases that effect the genital area.
Drink water.
It’s always good to hydrate after partaking in sexual activities. Sexy time activities are exercise, and you should always hydrate after “working out.” To avoid any serious consequences, such as passing out from dehydration, have a cup or two of water when you finish.
Clean yourself up.
It is HIGHLY recommended to wash up after sex. You don’t have to shower right away, but it is very hygienic and helpful in the long run. Additionally, if you don’t want to take a shower after sex, at least run a damp rag or wipe around your genital area.
Wear loose-fitting clothes (or nothing at all).
If you plan on going out anywhere after your love-making session, it is recommended to wear loose-fitting clothes. More specifically, it is highly recommended to wear 100% cotton clothing because the fabric is very breathable. If you’d rather chill and lay in bed the rest of the day, wear loose-fitting clothes or nothing at all!
Consider getting tested!
Something that should be very important to everyone is STD testing. Whether being intimate with a new partner, an old one, having protected sex or not, always consider getting tested. Your body and your partner will greatly appreciate the effort.
