Mr. Knickerbocker is temporarily returning to downtown Clemson, the store announced Wednesday.
According to a post on the store’s Facebook page, Frank and Joe Cortese, the owners of Peppino’s Pizza, have offered Mr. Knickerbocker temporary retail space to use. The space is located next to Peppino’s, in the old Clemson Copy Center at 384 College Ave.
Mr. Knickerbocker first opened at 354 College Ave. in 1973. The store closed its doors this past weekend after announcing a few weeks ago that the building’s owner had other plans for the space.
“This is a true testament to what a small town is all about,” the store wrote on its Facebook page. “Local family businesses helping local family businesses.”
Mr. Knickerbocker’s temporary location will open on Thursday, May 24 at 9 a.m.
