FOOTBALL
What has happened: Clemson started out slow in the first quarter but exploded for 28 second quarter points on their way to a rout of Florida State at Doak Campbell Stadium 59-10. The Tigers played all 75 guys that traveled. Trevor Lawrence and the offense had another strong day with 524 yards of total offense while the defense held the ‘Noles to -21 yards rushing. Clemson remains undefeated.
Coming up: The first College Football Playoff rankings will be released Tuesday at 7 p.m. before Clemson returns to Death Valley to face Louisville. Kickoff is at noon.
VOLLEYBALL
What has happened: Brooke Bailey had another strong night for the Tigers in the 3-set win over NC State with a career high 20 kills. Solei Thomas was 2nd on the team in kills with 13 and Gabby Easton, who won ACC Freshman of the Week, came up with seven kills. On Sunday, the Tigers secured their third straight home win in Jervey with a sweep of the North Carolina Tar Heels.
The Tigers currently sit at 13-12 overall and 4-8 in ACC play.
Coming up: Clemson will host Virginia on Friday at 7 p.m. before Pitt rolls into town on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both games will be played in Jervey.
MEN’S SOCCER
What has happened: Clemson defeated No. 20 ranked Syracuse on Tuesday night, 3-2 as Tanner Dieterich, Robbie Robinson and Adrian Nunez all led the Tigers in scoring. On Sunday, Clemson blanked NC State, 3-0 as Kimarni Smith, Andrew Burnikel scored goals in the 23rd and 50th minutes while Robbie Robinson had a goal for the second consecutive game.
Mike Noonan’s squad earned their first two ACC victories of the year, and their record stands at 7-8-1 overall and 2-6 in ACC play.
Coming up: Clemson will await their post-season fate as ACC Tournament play approaches.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
What has happened: Clemson closed the regular season Tuesday with shutout of Syracuse, 3-0. Mariana Speckmaier and Brooke Power opened the scoring up early in the 6th minute and 8th minute before Alana Hockenhull closed the scoring in the 86th minute.
On Sunday, ACC Tournament action started with the Tigers shutting out Boston College, 1-0. Mariana Speckmaier scored the winning goal.
Clemson’s record improves to 12-7 overall.
Coming up: Clemson advances to the ACC Semifinal matchup against North Carolina on Friday at 8 p.m. at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina
BASEBALL
What has happened: Monte Lee and the Clemson baseball team wrapped up their fall scrimmage schedule against Coastal Carolina, falling 9-8 at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Saturday.
Coming up: The 2019 season will kick off with a 3-game series against South Alabama on Friday, February 15.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
What has happened: Clemson defeated UNC-Wilmington in an exhibition game for Hurricane Florence relief by a score of 78-62. Aamir Simms led the scoring with 20, while Marcquise Reed and Shelton Mitchell came up with 19.
Coming up: Clemson basketball returns to Littlejohn Coliseum on Thursday night at 7 p.m. in one final exhibition against Barton College before the regular season starts.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
What has happened: The Amanda Butler era is officially underway in Clemson as the Tigers hosted Lander in an exhibition and defeated the Lancers, 84-53. Aliyah Collier led the Tigers with 17 points and Simone Westbrook and Taylor Hosendove came up with 12.
Coming up: Clemson will host Wofford on Friday at 5 p.m. in an exhibition matchup.
