Sitting down with Reed Rohlman after a flawless game on his behalf was nerve racking to say the least, however, we learned during our chat with our left out-fielder that he is a humble player who loves Clemson with all of his heart. Modest when asked about his terrific plays this past Tuesday at the Presbyterian College game, Rohlman made No. 1 play on SC Top Ten.
After talking to him it made me realize that although these men are athletes, they are regular students like us, as well. He has struggles and has exams like the rest of us, but he still manages to give Clemson his blood, sweat and tears to take Clemson and his team to new heights.
If he performs as well as he did against PC (which I know he will), then go ahead and buy your tickets to Nebraska. Reed Rohlman said that his favorite tradition was singing the alma mater, and he takes what it says very seriously. The Tiger’s roar will be echoing all the way to the championship if Reed Rohlman has anything to say about it.
Tiger Sports:What do you consider the strongest part of your game?
Reed Rohlman:Hitting … [Fielding] is new.
TS: Besides winning, what are your personal goals for this season?
RR:I would say getting the most out of the younger guys.
TS: What is your favorite part about playing here?
RR: It has to be the guys, especially the junior class. We grew up together.
TS: What do you want Clemson to remember you by after you graduate?
RR: I guess how I played hard and never took anything for granted.
TS: What are you most looking forward to this season?
RR: Right now I would say the postseason, hoping we make it far.
TS: Do you have a ritual or a superstition that you go by?
RR: Every time before I hit, I grab my necklace. I guess that’s something little. It’s my mom’s class ring, so I always grab that.
TS: If you could tell the Clemson family one thing, what would it be?
RR: Just thank you for all the support.
