1.Clemson Tigers: 6-0 (3-0) 0
Clemson’s domination of Boston College was impressive and confirmed that the Tigers are the best in the ACC right now.
2.Louisville Cardinals: 4-1 (2-1) 0
Louisville spent its Week 6 bye recuperating from the epic showdown with Clemson from the weekend prior.
3.Florida State Seminoles 4-2 (1-2) +2
Despite their struggles in recent weeks, the Seminoles were able to pull off a hard-fought road victory over the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes, marking FSU’s seventh straight win over the Hurricanes.
4.Miami Hurricanes: 4-1 (1-1) -1
If not for a blocked extra point by Florida State, Miami might have beaten the ‘Noles and entered the national championship discussion. The Hurricanes’ College Football Playoff hopes are not dead yet, though.
5.Virginia Tech Hokies: 4-1 (2-0) +2
In perhaps the most shocking outcome of the ACC slate thus far this season, the Hokies destroyed the Tar Heels on Saturday, proving that they are legitimate conference title contenders.
6.North Carolina Tar Heels: 4-2 (2-1) -2
The Tar Heels’ outside shot at a College Football Playoff berth imploded when UNC scored a measly three points at home against Virginia Tech this past weekend.
7.Pittsburgh Panthers: 4-2 (1-1) -1
Pitt won a high-scoring home affair against Georgia Tech on Saturday, but the Panthers have yet to collect any significant victories.
8.North Carolina State Wolfpack: 4-1 (1-0) +1
NC State overcame horrific weather conditions to win a grueling Week 6 matchup at home against Notre Dame. The Wolfpack has been fairly unpredictable so far, but its defense seems to be improving with each game.
9.Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets: 3-3 (1-3) -1
None of the Yellow Jackets’ losses are bad, but, nonetheless, Georgia Tech has been a bit of a disappointment this season.
10.Wake Forest Demon Deacons: 5-1 (2-1) 0
Wake Forest has definitely been the surprise of the ACC so far, but its schedule through the first half of the regular season has been a cakewalk.
11.Boston College Eagles: 3-3 (0-3) 0
The Eagles were destroyed by the Tigers last Friday and will likely continue to struggle for the remainder of the season.
12.Syracuse Orange: 2-4 (0-2) 0
It might be awhile before Syracuse is relevant in ACC football.
13.Virginia Cavaliers: 2-3 (1-0) 0
During its Week 6 bye, UVA assuredly relished its first (and probably last) conference win of the season from Week 5.
14.Duke Blue Devils: 3-3 (0-2) 0
A week removed from a woeful defensive performance in a loss at home to Virginia, Duke barely won an ugly affair against Army. It is still baffling as to how Duke beat Notre Dame in what will definitely be the signature win of the Blue Devils’ less than stellar 2016 season.
