Clemson offensive line coach Matt Luke takes the practice field at the Allen N. Reeves Football Complex on Dec. 12, 2023.

One of the best recent additions for the Tigers has been Matt Luke, who joined the coaching staff in December as the new head of the offensive line unit.

Although he has only been on staff for two months, Luke and the rest of Clemson’s staff welcomed several top-tier 2025 recruits to town this past weekend for Clemson’s Elite Junior Day.

As expected, a lot of attention was given to offensive line recruits as the Tigers missed out on most of the prospects they offered in the 2024 cycle. Luke was able to attract an impressive showing of highly touted recruits on Elite Junior Day and landed several commitments in the following days.

Clemson received pledges from four-star tackle Brayden Jacobs and three-star tackle Jaylan Beckley.

Jacobs announced his commitment to Clemson on social media just one day after Elite Junior Day. He is the son of two-time Super Bowl champion Brandon Jacobs, a former running back, and at 6-foot-7, 310 pounds, the offensive tackle is ranked No. 17 in the nation for his position.

Beckley, though rated a three-star by 247Sports, is ranked as a four-star by sources such as Rivals. The 6-foot-3, 290-pound tackle is ranked No. 29 in the country for his position and holds 19 other offers.

Luke proved eager to impress at Elite Day, welcoming five-star David Sanders of Providence Day School in North Carolina.

With 35 total offers, the 6-foot-6, 270-pound recruit is ranked as the nation’s top offensive tackle prospect and second-best prospect overall for the 2025 class, according to 247Sports’ rankings. He intends to return in June for an official visit.

Clemson also brought in interior linemen Mason Short (a recent Alabama decommit) and four-star interior lineman Chauncey Gooden. Additionally, four-star tackle Mal Waldrep and Easton Ware, a four-star tackle who has been committed to Clemson since November 2023, visited.

Luke is expected to draw in several more recruits over the coming weeks.
