Six former Tigers are headed to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis after the NFL announced its full 2024 NFL combine attendee list.
Linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr., cornerback Nate Wiggins, running back Will Shipley, defensive end Xavier Thomas, defensive tackle Tyler Davis and defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro are invited to the combine. The group will show off their athletic abilities and skills in front of NFL scouts and front office staff from Feb. 26-March 4, ahead of April’s draft.
Wiggins is projected to be the first Tiger selected, as NFL draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah predicted he will go to the Indianapolis Colts at pick No. 15 in his latest mock draft on Tuesday.
As far as the other five Clemson football alumni, Trotter has been projected as a mid-to-late second-round selection, and Shipley is expected to be a late day two or an early day three pick, according to several mock drafts. Thomas, Orhorhoro and Davis could all hear their names in the mid-rounds, as they are all experienced and have qualities that teams are looking for in the draft.
The elite event is composed of several tests of strength, speed and endurance. The 40-meter dash, bench press and vertical jump are among the most popular results to test athleticism.
Clemson is among the top schools with the most combine invites, with 13 other schools having more, headlined by Michigan, which leads the way with 18 total players invited.
The combine will be available to view on the NFL Network.
