If you’re looking for the best barbecue in the Clemson area, this year’s best barbecue winner, The Smokin’ Pig, is for you.
With a menu featuring typical barbecue items such as chopped pork, brisket, ribs and chicken, as well as some more unique items like their famous sweet potato crunch, The Smokin’ Pig has something for everyone. The restaurant also features a variety of desserts, including banana pudding and seasonal cobblers. Catering is also available if you have a larger group to feed.
The roadside restaurant has a unique atmosphere, with a good combination of outdoor experiences, cool decor and fun traditions. Its most notable feature is the walls, which are covered from floor to ceiling with customer signatures.
While waiting for your table, The Smokin’ Pig offers a variety of things to do, including an outdoor bar, several fire pits, a bocce ball court, cornhole and a mini-golf course.
“My family has been coming here all my life, and it’s always been spectacular,” Lily Acker, a sophomore genetics major, said.
The Smokin’ Pig currently features three locations in the Upstate area, with restaurants in Pendleton, Easley and Anderson. In fact, the restaurant has proven so popular that the Pendleton location is currently in the process of expanding, which will provide private seating for an additional 50 customers.
