Cooper Library, with six floors and a 2,600-person capacity, has a plethora of study spaces, resources and even refreshment options, but this year, one floor stood out above the rest. According to the Clemson community, the third floor of Robert Muldrow Cooper Library is the best all-around floor.
The third floor, located one floor down from the main entrance, contains various seating options, private study rooms, a classroom, the Clemson University Writing Lab, federal and state documents and the children’s and young adult bookshelves.
One seating arrangement unique to the third floor is the booths, which line the perimeter of the space. If you’re lucky, you might get one of the rare booths with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out at the surrounding area.
The Writing Lab offers both face-to-face and online appointments, where the trained consultants help brainstorm ideas and revise projects with the goal of finding “the most effective way to communicate your message,” according to its website.
As the middle floor, the third floor’s typical noise level is quiet with some light chatter, and specific zones are marked for collaborative or individual learning.
Next time you go to Cooper Library, check out the third floor and find out why the community voted it the best floor.
