The city of Clemson Police Department identified and arrested a woman who is suspected to have burglarized over 10 homes in the Clemson area on Aug. 16.
In an immediate press release from the city police on Aug. 2, 36-year-old Ginger Gail Dreo was seen trying to enter multiple homes in the Crestwood neighborhood via surveillance videos, according to WYFF News 4.
City police officers identified Dreo on Aug. 14, claiming she was known to drive a gray Chevrolet Trailblazer. Officers then found and arrested her on Aug. 16 with help from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, and the public, as stated by WSPA 7 News.
According to an article by WSPA 7 News, victims noted they were missing cash, rings and other items from their homes.
Dreo has been arrested for 11 burglaries in the Clemson area, and Clemson Chief of Police Jorge Campos believes she may have conducted more burglaries in neighboring counties, including Oconee, Pickens, Greenville and Anderson, according to WSPA 7 News.
The search began after Clemson police was called to respond to a single burglary, though Clemson’s crime map has now shown certain houses near each other were targeted by Dreo.
“Dreo was booked into the Clemson City Jail where she was denied bond and will be transported to the Pickens County Detention Center,” read a CCPD press release on Aug. 16.
This is an ongoing investigation, and anyone with any information on Dreo’s activities should contact Detective Tyler Owens at 864-624-2001.
