The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in the incident concerning a naked man on a Clemson Area Transit (CAT) bus in Seneca on Tuesday morning.
The naked man was identified as Daylen Dicks, a 21-year-old resident of the Flats at the Pier. He was arrested on Tuesday on a series of charges after assaulting his roommate, unclothed, on a CATbus.
Dicks threatened officers sent to his apartment with a knife and called them “several vulgar names,” and attempted to intimidate them, according to the report.
Dicks’ roommate spoke to officials, stating that Dicks began chasing him on his way to the CATbus and assaulting him while unclothed. Dicks began “hitting him multiple times in the face and neck area with his fists as they got on the bus,” according to the police report from the sheriff’s office.
The bus driver repeatedly asked Dicks to exit the bus, which he eventually did, and returned to his apartment, where the roommate let police officers in.
Dicks, still naked, was found sitting in his bedroom. Officers attempted to calm him down and urged him to put on clothes several times with no success.
The 21-year-old repeatedly referred to himself as God, stated he was invincible, and made references to fictional Marvel Comics characters and cities.
Officials asked Dicks whether or not he was under the influence of any substances, to which he could not give a definitive answer.
Dicks’ behavior prompted officers to tell him he was under arrest for breach of peace. Dicks then locked himself inside his room, where he “began beating on the walls and shouting and cussing,” the police report stated.
After officials continued to call him out of his room and tell him that he was under arrest, he opened his door, “still talking about Marvel movies and telling (the police) that he is God, while video recording himself with his phone,” according to the police report.
Police stated that he “kept walking down the hallway…with an aggressive stance,” which prompted police to draw their tasers as a precautionary measure.
After multiple attempts to restrain Dicks, officers handcuffed and transported him to Oconee County Detention Center.
Dicks is charged with third-degree assault and battery, breach of peace, public disorderly conduct, indecent exposure, two counts of resisting arrest and two counts of threatening the life of a public official.
