The No. 14 Clemson Tigers are set to face the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs for the first time in three years at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta this Saturday at noon.
Sarah Pepe, senior reporter for The Tiger, asked both Clemson and UGA students about their thoughts:
What do you predict the score of the game will be?
“I think the score is going to be UGA winning 27-17. I’m hoping we can surpass that, but we will have to see!” — Bella Clarke, senior economics major at Clemson
“At the end of the day, Georgia has just recruited better and used the transfer portal better than Clemson has. They are too talented and too well-coached. Georgia will handle Clemson 38-17 to start off their quest for a third championship in four years.” — Jake Pace, junior economics major at Georgia
What players do you think will show up and show out on Saturday?
“I would say that our defense will definitely show out the most as a whole. I hope to see Cade live up to his fullest potential. I think this is the game that he will hopefully be able to perform and show off the most since the crowd and environment is going to be crazy.” — Lexi Loscher, senior marketing major at Clemson
“Two players that will look to make an early impact both on the field and in their career are CJ Allen and Nate Frazier. With Trevor Etienne’s status unknown, pending suspension for DUI, Nate Frazier, an explosive back from Mater Dei, will look to shine bright like a diamond, like Rhianna. His speed and quickness between cuts will make it hard for Clemson’s banged up secondary to contain him between the boundary. On the other hand, CJ Allen, coming off a red hot spring ball, is going to physically impale the Clemson o-line, Glenn Schumann will look to mix up his blitz packages and pick his matchups with Clemson’s mockery of an o-line.” Jeremy Redfearn, junior business management major at Georgia
What do you anticipate the atmosphere in the stadium will be like, and how do you think the fans will be feeling?
“All of the UGA fans will bark at me and I am excited to scream my heart out and show them Clemson is better. It will be an insanely loud and intense game because it is an extremely nice NFL stadium and very close to both Clemson and UGA, so the crowd should almost be split 50/50. Also, the UGA fans should be locked up in a kennel with all the other dogs.” — Dakota Schmidt, senior economics major at Clemson
“I think it’ll be electric. I think it’ll be packed with Georgia fans. I think Clemson fans will be nervous and way too sober. I think the game will be over, and they will leave early. UGA fans will be happy and drunk. UGA 45-7!” — Cole Deschenes, junior forestry major at Georgia
