Coming off of a tough 34-3 loss against the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs, Clemson looks to regain momentum this Saturday against Appalachian State in Death Valley.
Sarah Pepe, senior reporter for The Tiger, asked Clemson students their thoughts on the upcoming game.
What players do you think will show up and perform on Saturday?
I’m expecting a huge game out of Phil Mafah, I was hoping for a lot more rushing yards out of him against Georgia, but it’s a tough ask against a defense like that. Really hoping we can get more targets to (Bryant) Wesco (Jr.) and TJ Moore just so I can see what they’re all about, and I’m looking to Cade (Klubnik) for a big game after a pretty average start to the season last weekend.

What do you expect the outcome of the game to be against App State?
Despite the outcome of the last game, I really do think we are going to destroy App State. I feel like the loss lit a fire under the players’ butts, and now they’re going to come in ready to win. If the first home game ends up being a loss, I think it’s gonna be a big problem for everyone … not just the team!

What do you anticipate the game day atmosphere will be in Death Valley?
It’s going to be electric! I’m so excited our first home game of the season is a night game, and I think the crowd will be amazing.
