As the changing leaves and colder weather bring about cravings for autumn feasts, farmers’ market season is in full swing, and there are many local spots to explore.
The city of Clemson puts on a farmers market in Patrick Square every Thursday from 3:30-6:30 p.m. The Clemson Farmer’s Market allows small business owners in the Clemson area to sell their homegrown or handmade goods.
The market can be easily identified by the white tents that line the green space beside the park’s stage. Each week, the market brings in new and longtime vendors to sell their various products.
This past Thursday featured seven businesses. There were several products for sale, including fresh vegetables, fresh-cut flowers, baked goods and homemade salsa. In addition to produce, vendors were also selling handmade bags, jewelry, embroidery and different types of three-dimensional art.
The Clemson Farmer’s Market does a great job showing off the hard work and dedication these vendors put into their businesses. Additionally, local musicians take the stage and provide a soundtrack for the event.
Whether you’re there for the handmade products or to listen to live music, The Clemson Farmer’s Market is a great way to support local business owners. This family-friendly event is a great way to spend a Thursday afternoon!
