Clemson volleyball welcomed No. 1 Pittsburgh to kick off the start of division play this past Friday. Although the team fought hard, it ultimately dropped all three sets to a dominant Panther squad.
The Tigers started off strong in set one, with graduate Indigo Young hitting 0.500 and junior Mia McGrath hitting 0.429. McGrath and senior Devan Taylor had an ace each to slow down the Panthers, but Pittsburgh ultimately came out on top, winning 25-21 against the Tigers.

Pittsburgh kept their momentum into the third set, with four players having multiple kills in the set. The Panthers had a hitting percentage of 0.379, while the Tigers hit 0.000 due to attack errors and a strong block put up by Pittsburgh. Clemson was unable to stop Pittsburgh’s momentum, as the Panthers put up three service aces and four blocks.
Clemson went on to lose the set 25-13, and the Panthers were able to sweep the Tigers 3-0 on the road.
