The Clemson women’s soccer team defeated the Boston College Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Sunday thanks to a stellar defense and an energetic crowd. In recognition of Senior Day, each of Clemson’s seven senior student-athletes was recognized and celebrated in a pregame ceremony.
Following the festivities, the Tigers quickly got on the board. In the 18th minute of the match, senior Mackenzie Duff placed a header over the reach of the Eagles’ goalie. The goal was scored off Clemson’s second corner kick of the game and was assisted by Jenna Tobia and Kendall Bodak.
The Tigers did not look back as they held the lead for the remainder of the contest.
Immediately after the start of the second half, the Tigers scored their second of the match when Bodak put the ball in the lower left corner of the net, with Tobia again assisting the shot.
Clemson tallied 10 more shots and seven more on goal than Boston College, and while the Eagles acquired 13 corner kicks compared to Clemson’s eight, they could not capitalize on any.
The Tigers will be back in action Saturday at 7 p.m. when they take on the Miami Hurricanes at Historic Riggs Field.
