Now that it’s October, the weather will begin to chill, the leaves will change colors and with that comes a change in fashion trends. Here are some of my predictions for what we’ll see this autumn.
For class and casual outings, I expect to see lots of leggings, especially flared leggings. Chunky sweaters and cropped sweatshirts will be all the rage, mostly in neutral colors.
To keep your feet warm and comfy, Ugg slippers and Birkenstock clogs are popular fall favorites, as are casual sneakers like New Balance 574s and Nike Legacy Court Lifts. Mini skirts are the “it” girl choice of bottoms for going out this season and can sometimes paired with tights. If skirts aren’t for you, I predict that flared leather pants and wide-legged jeans will also be a hit.
A night on the town calls for cute shoes, and knee-high boots have recently made a considerable comeback, especially with a heel. For flat shoes, chunky casual sneakers or platform sneakers would be a great choice.
Accessories that are good to have on hand this fall are slouch socks, plain hoop earrings, neutral everyday rings, tortoiseshell print claw clips, black or brown leather purses and thick-framed sunglasses.
Hairstyles are just as much a fashion trend as clothes are. Regarding color, “bronde” and “cowboy copper” are what people are gravitating to this fall. Now that the weather is cooler, it’s time to ditch the beach waves and bring back the big, bouncy blowout. Slick backs are making their way off the scene, and the messy bun is back. Lots of volume is on the menu this season.
For my friends who keep their nails done, the colors of the fall are chocolate brown, wine red and a French tip with white chrome on top. If you want your makeup to change with the season as well, warm brown eyeshadows, warm-toned blushes and warm-toned lipstick will help elevate those fall looks.
