It’s almost Halloween, and you still haven’t bought a costume. Your friends are trying to make plans, and you don’t know how to answer because you don’t even know what to wear. If this is you, don’t fret because I have a list of quick and easy costumes that can work with items you already have in your closet.
For my blondies, leather pants, an off the shoulder black top, and a pair of red shoes will make the perfect Sandy costume from the movie “Grease.” You could also use the leather pants and add a V-neck top with black boots for a Pamela Anderson look.
A super simple look with clothes everyone has is Magic Mike. For this costume, you’ll need a pair of jeans, a plain top, a tie loosely around your neck and a backwards hat.
Disneybounding is also a great way to dress up with items you already have. For example, a Cinderella costume would be a blue dress or a blue top and bottoms with a bun for a hairstyle. For any Disney character, choose a color scheme that represents them and use appropriate accessories, like nautical jewelry for Ariel.
Another simple costume is a witch. For this, you will need any form of black clothing and a witch hat, which you can find in almost any store at this time of year.
If you happen to have some bell bottoms in your closet, add a floral top and crimp your hair to put your own personal spin on being a ‘60s hippie. If the ‘80s are more your style, find your brightest clothes and put them together even if they don’t match, and add leg warmers and funky jewelry.
For something that takes almost no prep, you can be any sort of animal, like a bunny or a leopard, if you add ears and choose an outfit with coordinating colors.
A costume that works for both a group and an individual is a character from “Men in Black.” For this, you will need black bottoms, a white shirt, a black tie, a black blazer or leather jacket and a pair of sunglasses.
If you have an animal print dress, add a party hat and be a “party animal” because everyone loves a good pun for a costume. There are so many costumes waiting in your closet to be put together, so don’t let a busy schedule keep you from celebrating Halloween!
