Sarah Pepe, a senior reporter for The Tiger, sat down with Clemson students to hear their thoughts about the rivalry between the Clemson Tigers and the University of South Carolina Gamecocks.
“I think the Tigers have all of the pieces but just need to put them together in the same game. We showed a lot of grit last week against Pitt, but it might take more that to beat USC. To me, our biggest issue against Louisville is that we didn’t show any urgency or belief and couldn’t come back to win the game. We might have to play from behind next week which will take Cade getting through his reads and the team believing in a win.”

“The atmosphere on game day, even for a noon kickoff, is going to be electric in Death Valley, after all! I know the fans will be loud, bringing the energy from the Tiger Walk to the stadium. I am excited to see tailgates and hear how loud the stadium will be. I think a good amount of UofSC students will show up as well, so it should be a great time and I can’t wait to see us win.”
– Gabriella Modica, junior political science major
“I think our key standout for the UofSC game is going to be Barrett Carter spying the quarterback, TJ Moore on the sidelines getting separation on the back shoulder, and our D-line run stop. If we can put those pieces together come game time, UofSC won’t know what to do with us.”
— Towner Clements, senior management major
The rivalry game will kick off Saturday at Memorial Stadium at noon.
