Springtime is here and so is the next ring ceremony. The typical Sunday best attire is still the dress code this year, but I predict that we will be seeing some new trends this year.
Dresses are usually the outfit of choice for the ladies and I don’t see that changing this semester. However, I expect to see less purple and orange this year and instead, a rise in florals. White dresses with blue flowers are all the rage this season.
I imagine that we will be seeing fewer stiletto and block heels and more wedges and platform sandals. Wedges with cork bottoms and neutral colored details are popular this spring because of how easily they fit with the popular floral clothing styles. Black and white faux-leather platform sandals have made a comeback and pair well with the silkier and tighter dresses.
Men don’t need to wear a suit to the ring ceremony but they do need to avoid jeans, sweatpants and shorts. Khaki and dress pants are safe options and pair well with button-up shirts or collared shirts. Chances are, you will end up taking pictures with someone in a patterned dress, so it would be best to stick with solid colored shirts. For shoes, avoid tennis shoes but cowboy boots are acceptable if they are clean and not work boots.
Remember, your ring is the star of the show, so make sure that none of your other jewelry overpowers it!
