After a rough couple of weeks for Clemson men’s basketball — losing a majority of the team to graduation or the transfer portal — there’s finally some good news for fans.
Nevada transfer Nick Davidson has officially committed to the Tigers, choosing the program over Virginia, Washington, Texas and Notre Dame.
He was an important addition to the team for head coach Brad Brownell, as Davidson was one of the top players in this year’s transfer portal cycle.
The 6-foot-10 redshirt junior is coming off his best season with the Wolfpack, averaging a career-high 15.8 points along with 6.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. He can also stretch the floor well, hitting 37.1% of his 3-pointers pointers last year.
This impressive campaign made Davidson a second-team All-Mountain West selection in the 2024-25 season.
Although Nevada did not make the NCAA Tournament this season, Davidson had one of his best performances of the year in his final game of the season against Colorado State, scoring 22 points, six rebounds and one block.
With how impressive Brownell has been with the transfer portal and recruiting over the past few years, Davidson’s transfer is likely the first of many great pickups for Clemson.
