Kat Pugh, Editor-in-Chief
Over the summer, The Tiger’s Editor-in-Chief is working as a journalist for The College Fix, an online news publication focused on higher education. The College Fix reports on political news at colleges and universities across the country. Kat’s work includes conducting interviews, writing articles, communicating with her editors and more.
The most recent article Kat wrote for The College Fix pertained to a recent lawsuit alleging that the Office for Civil Rights within the United States Department of Education is unable to fulfill its legal obligations due to the Trump administration cutting funding and staffing, and closing numerous offices.
“I was originally introduced to The College Fix by a previous Editor-in-Chief of The Tiger, Blake Mauro. My experience writing for the News desk at The Tiger gave me the background I needed for my work at The Fix, which I’m very grateful for.
“Additionally, working with the professional editors at The College Fix has immensely improved my writing and editing skills for The Tiger, and has taught me how to effectively lead others in the field of journalism!”
Kylie Tutterrow, Associate Editor
Kylie will be spending her summer interning in the communications department for the city of Greenville and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas in marketing and communications.
“Working at The Tiger has helped hone my writing skills, giving me an attention to detail that has guided me to success on many past projects. This organization has given me the opportunity to build my interpersonal skills in interacting with fellow staff, members of the community and university professionals in my various roles. This has proven to be a helpful tool, guiding me in how to collaborate in a professional workspace.
“Learning how to manage a project from start to end every two weeks in paper production has helped me learn how to manage internship projects independently and on deadline.”
Julia Wilson, Managing Editor
The Tiger’s managing editor is in Pendleton, South Carolina, this summer with Clemson University’s Summer Creative Inquiry program. Julia is working with heavy metals in her research on how organic molecules bond with Lanthanides.
“My experience at The Tiger has helped me feel more comfortable in a leadership position. With my experience from The Tiger, I feel confident enough to be in control of my projects.”
Charlotte Meenan, Copy Chief
Taxes are keeping Charlotte busy this summer! She is working as a tax accounting intern for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Fort Worth, Texas.
“Being a copy editor, and now Copy Chief, on The Tiger has helped me become more precise with my work and has strengthened my attention to detail. I enjoy copy editing and accounting as they both require me to apply analytical skills. I am so excited to begin my tax journey at PwC and bring my experience from The Tiger with me!”

“Serving as Communications Manager at The Tiger gave me hands-on experience creating content that really connects with people. I learned how to navigate tight deadlines, work with different personalities and adjust messaging to fit our audience. Those real-world lessons have made it so much easier to jump into new challenges during my current internship with the bank.”
