Hello Class of 2029, and welcome to Clemson!
Coming to Clemson is more than just a college decision; it is the start of something truly special. The people you will meet here, the skills you will learn and the opportunities you will seize will mark some of the best memories of your life.
As I enter my senior year, it’s hard not to reflect on all the experiences Clemson has had to offer so far. From football games, concerts and sunsets with friends to late nights in the library, pushing through deadlines and rushing to class, your next few years will be full of unforgettable moments, growth and joy.
College is the perfect time to meet new people, learn new things and make lasting memories. While adjusting to a new environment can feel a bit overwhelming at first, it’s also the beginning of something incredible. If you are feeling uncertain about this change, that’s perfectly normal. And if you have never been more excited about anything in your life, that’s great too.
Most people feel a mix of both during their first year. The best part is that even the hardest days often lead to the most rewarding and joyful memories.
As you begin your journey at Clemson, welcome the change with open arms. These next few years will fly by and will be filled with laughter, friendships and moments that shape who you are. The time will feel like centuries, yet seconds.
As someone nearing the end of her time here, I recommend that you take every opportunity that comes your way and not be afraid to do things outside your comfort zone. Push away discomfort, live the great stories waiting for you and don’t miss a moment.
Although trying something new can be scary, never trying is even more limiting.
