This morning at around 9:50 a.m., Clemson University Fire and EMS responded to a call in Brackett Hall.
An ambulance and fire truck assembled in front of the building, but students were still able to enter and leave.
“We did have a response at Brackett, but due to privacy, I cannot go into further details.” Aaron Bunyea, interim fire chief for CUFD, told The Tiger.
Clemson University Police Department was not involved, as the incident appeared to be a medical issue. Witnesses spotted an unused gurney near the emergency vehicles.
“There have been no calls for service requests for law enforcement needs at Brackett today,” Davis Simpson, CUPD’s public information officer, wrote The Tiger in an email.
CUPD officers were spotted in Brackett conducting a routine walking patrol and property checks of the building.
No further details have been released at this time.
This is a developing story. The Tiger will update this article with additional information as it becomes available.
