This offseason, Clemson baseball head coach Erik Bakich was busy in the transfer portal to add some key players for the 2026 campaign.
Ty Dalley
Dalley transferred into Clemson from Mercer following his junior season, meaning that the left-handed hitter will have just one year of eligibility remaining. He hit .292 last season with Mercer, along with a notable 19 home runs.
Dalley has already had his signature moment in a Tiger uniform, stepping up to the plate and hitting a home run against the Savannah Bananas in their exhibition game with a flaming bat.
The Mercer transfer is an infielder, but provides positional flexibility around the diamond.
Nate Savoie
Savoie is a catcher and an outfielder who transferred in from Loyola Marymount. The right-handed hitter hit .300 last year while also clubbing an impressive 20 home runs.
This campaign won him the West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year award, as well as Freshman All-American honors. Savoie has three years of eligibility remaining.
Tyler Lichtenberger
Lichtenberger transferred to Clemson from Appalachian State University and will likely play a large role as Clemson’s everyday shortstop in 2026.
He won Sun Belt Freshman of the Year last season after hitting an impressive .341 with three home runs. The sophomore shortstop also tallied 37 RBIs.
Bryce Clavon
Clavon transferred to Clemson from the University of Georgia, where he saw minimal playing time. In just 15 plate appearances last season, he hit .333 and worked two walks. The outfielder also hit a home run.
Clavon has already seen lots of time in center field so far this fall, through the Savannah Bananas exhibition game and the team’s fall ball contest against Alabama.
Michael Sharman
Sharman is a left-handed pitcher who is coming from the University of Tennessee. Last season with the Volunteers, he threw 22.2 innings, allowing a 3.36 earned run average.
The lefty did a good job keeping the ball in the ballpark, as he only allowed one home run. The reliever has just one year of eligibility remaining.
Hayden Simmerson
Simmerson is a relief pitcher transferring from Catawba, a Division II school. The righty threw 64.1 innings, pitching to a 3.36 ERA.
He led the nation in saves, tallying 17 over the course of the season.
Ariston Veasey
Veasey transferred from Alabama, where he registered just 3.2 innings of work.
In those five appearances, he gave up a 9.82 ERA. The right-hander will look to improve upon his control this season, as he also walked six batters and hit two.
