After having a promising first offseason with the Tigers, one of Clemson’s freshmen wide receivers may have to wait until 2023 to take the field.
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney has announced that Adam Randall suffered a torn ACL during the team’s practice on Friday, prompting the potential breakout star to undergo surgery later this week.
“Adam has had a tremendous spring, and we look forward to having him back on the field once he has returned to full health,” Swinney said in Monday’s press release.
Clemson’s coaching staff has raved about Randall since he joined the team this spring. Swinney even compared him to former Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins, who is now in the NFL.
With his injury, Randall will not appear in Saturday’s spring game and could have to wait to play his first game as a Tiger until the 2023 season.
