A fan favorite among university students here in Glasgow, iCafe, aims to cater to every taste one could have. With a wide range of food options throughout the day, a plethora of desserts, both baked goods and ice cream, and mouthwatering coffee combos, the hub provides everything it can for its customers.
First, as always, I’m here to talk about the vibes and suffice it to say iCafe has them in excess. Its two floors and outdoor seating offer comfortable group and solo seating, with several tucked-away nooks perfect for studying. The cafe is clearly geared towards providing a digital workspace. While it’s nothing revolutionary, it is clear care was taken to make you enjoy the location as much as their coffee. Vibes are a 4 out of 5.
iCafe’s food, next, is commendable for its extensive menu alone. Waffles, pancakes, breakfast wraps and everything in between are at your fingertips. For being spread so wide, the quality of each of their items was consistently impressive. If I had to recommend anything, I’d suggest one of their few homemade brownies. Correct, homemade. Food is easily a 4 out of 5.
Now, their coffee offers just as much variety. A couple dozen specialty lattes are available, with a wide range of them offered with a vegan version. Sadly, however, I can’t say the quality keeps up as much as the food does. I found the specialty drinks overpowering and the simple coffee weak and bland. There’s perhaps a middle ground somewhere on their menu, but I can’t really convince myself it’s worth it to search. The coffee gets a 2 out of 5.
