Clemson’s club cheer program competed in the college cheer nationals this past weekend in Daytona, Florida, earning the highest score the club has ever received in program history.
The program’s advanced large coed squad placed fifth, as well as the advanced all-girl squad taking third to mark the highest that a team has ever placed in program history. Clemson’s intermediate all-girls team also placed 21st overall with a raw score of 85.3 out of 90.
Sophomore Sophie Cribb, who has been on the team for two seasons now, is proud of how her team performed.
“This year has been a special one,” Cribb said. “We have all worked so hard and this team has shown the most talent that the club has seen.
“This talent and these teammates worked together to make history with the biggest score that we have ever received from NCA nationals. We are so grateful for the opportunity to attend this competition, and can’t wait to work even harder for next year.”
