The Inclusion and Equity Committee of the CUSG has a few upcoming events throughout the first two weeks of April.
April 3-April 14: “Envisioning Community” art project
From 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Gantt Multicultural Center will house an ongoing art project where all Clemson students may collaborate to reflect, write, create and connect on a collective art project to express the queer vision at Clemson.
April 6: The History of House Music ft. Ballroom dance lessons from Tim Campbell
From 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Barnes Center, students can learn about the history of house music, how the iconic ballroom scene originated and even acquire some ball-groovy dance steps from Tim Campbell.
April 7: Pride Prom
From 10 p.m. to midnight at the Barnes Center Clemson students will celebrate PRIDE with music, photos, food and fun.
April 10: Living Library
From 6 to 8 p.m. on the fourth floor of Cooper Library, students can view Clemson’s take on the “Human Library,” a Danish event where people could “check out” other people.
April 11: Title IX 50th Celebration Soup and Substance: Past, Present and Future of LGBTQ+ Support
From noon to 1 p.m. in the Almeda Jacks Ballroom at the Hendrix Student Center, “Monique Harmon and Kim Carter will discuss LGBTQ+ support through the lens of Title IX and the current, local and national climate for the community, according to the Gantt Multicultural Center.
April 12: Queer Trivia
The two-week celebration will round out from 7 until 9 p.m. in Watt 106, where students can compete against one another using their queer knowledge on topics like music, film and history. Teams will be composed of three to five people, and there will be prizes for the top three winning teams.
Clemson Libraries and the Clemson Undergraduate Student Government promote a Textbook Lending Program Survey
CUSG and the University created a survey to lower students’ textbook costs and how they are currently affecting students. They are interested in feedback to take action to help students that struggle to pay for textbooks while also wanting to hear about suggestions on cost lowering.
